This three part session focuses on indemnities, the most applied risk application tool for oilfield contracts. Most common indemnities in drilling and oilfield services contracts will be explained in the set of easy-to-learn examples and schemes, with exercises to ensure participants understand the enormous commercial impact of the regime of contractual indemnification. This class is based on training materials from the well-known course “Understanding Contractual Terms and Conditions”, which has been delivered to more than 500 industry professionals during 10 years and received high rating from attendees.

Olga Labai is both a practicing lawyer and trainer, with 18 years of professional experience providing legal advice on both a contentious and non-contentious basis within the upstream oil and gas sector. Prior to the establishment of OGC, she worked for Sakhalin Energy, the operator of the “Sakhalin-2” project in Russia, operator of the first LNG plant in Russia, and for Weatherford in the Middle East, where she covered all legal issues for Weatherford’s Iraq and Kurdistan operations.
